Since 2022, I have had the honour of representing Saltair, Thetis Island, Penelakut Island and Ruxton Island at the Cowichan Valley Regional District Board table.

Over the past four years, we have advanced major investments in water security, parks, docks and community infrastructure while pushing for fiscal discipline, better development services and more accountable decision-making.

There is more work to do. I am seeking re-election to finish critical infrastructure projects, rebuild trust in local government, expand responsible housing choices and ensure every Area G community receives strong, fair representation.

Record Residents Can Examine

  • Water security: Advanced Saltair’s long-term water strategy through the Ladysmith interconnection agreement and continued work on Stocking Lake Dam and related infrastructure.
  • Community assets: Supported investments in Saltair Centennial Park, the Thetis Island Community Dock, community facilities and recreation.
  • Fiscal oversight: Questioned spending and services that were not producing measurable value while protecting essential infrastructure.
  • Housing: Supported responsible housing proposals and a fair public process while pressing for faster, clearer development approvals.
  • Planning accountability: Opposed the Modernized Official Community Plan and Comprehensive Zoning Bylaw after those processes lost public confidence.
  • Rural and island advocacy: Raised marine access, emergency response, road safety, wildfire preparedness and watershed concerns with the responsible agencies.

My Top Priorities for 2026–2030

  • Rebuild trust and reform planning and development services.
  • Complete critical water and infrastructure work.
  • Support responsible housing and practical rural property use.
  • Strengthen parks, recreation and community assets.
  • Maintain fiscal discipline and measurable accountability.
  • Secure fair treatment for rural and island communities.

Good local government is not built by one person at a podium. It is built by residents who participate, representatives who listen and a community willing to work through difficult decisions together.

Thank you for the trust you have placed in me since 2022. I remain as committed to this work as I was on my first day, but I now bring four years of experience, a public record and an even clearer understanding of what Area G needs.
